Heartbroken dad's desperate appeal after theft of baby's ashes

A safe containing the child’s remains was taken from a car which was stolen after a burglary early today, Saturday, December 26.
The break-in was discovered at around 8.30am today, when a blue Ford Fiesta was stolen from a house in Eskdale Court.

Hide AdIt was discovered a short distance away in Eskdale Road, having collided with a property’s garden wall, but when the vehicle was checked, the gun metal grey safe containing the ashes was not in the car.
The child passed away just a few months ago and police are joining the father in urgently appealing for information which could lead to the return of the ashes.
Officers are urging whoever took the safe to return it to them - or at least leave it in a public place where it will be noticed, and hopefully returned to the child’s father.
A police statement said: “You can contact police with information, or leave the safe at any police office, bus stop or other public place where it will easily be seen.

“Anyone else with information on the burglary or the theft of the car is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting Ref 209031.
